BI PORT
What we did here is basically took Oracle BI SE One technology and made a "standard edition" BI application for analyzing data in Siebel, or "BI Port for Siebel". This solution provides essential reports and dashboards for analysis of accounts, contacts, activities, opportunities and Service requests' data coming directly from Siebel OLTP tables with no ETL transformations, star-schemas etc.
BI Port for Siebel would be much more effective compared to the current Actuate based reporting coming along with Siebel CRM applications as it provides (a) more insight, (b) greater user interactivity, (c) possibility to analyze data coming from other data sources as well as (d) powerful tool for ad-hoc analysis. Once customer’s BI needs grow, there are further development options such as migrating to Oracle BI EE Plus version, developing custom DWH with all the star schemas or implementing Oracle BI Applications.
